Month: January 2014 (page 2 of 2)

This week we had good classes with our students as we had opportunities to talk about New Year’s Resolutions.  We discussed making smart choices and to live lives that honor God.  We were able to challenge them to get to know God better this year.  Pray with us, that many would take up that challenge and hunger to know God and find Him as their savior.

Christmas Lights

This is a daytime shot of the HUGE and awesome lights that are hung on the main street here.  We celebrate New Years as the main Holiday, then (for the sake of tradition) our country celebrate Christmas and New Years based on an old religious calendar.  So…while you’re tossing your tree to the curb, we’re just getting warmed up!  Merry Christmas!

Living on the Edge

A lot of times, when I’m reflecting on the past year and looking ahead, I think about regrets I’ve had and things I want to do better…then, I calculate the risk of doing those things better!  I wouldn’t exactly say that I look for ways to “live on the edge”…!  This year, I do want to be more willing to take risks for His Kingdom, though.  Join me in making goals that will impact The Kingdom.

A Drive

We took this short video while we were driving through our stomping grounds, in this city. After you watch this video, would you take a minute to pray that people would see a difference in us.  Passing hundreds of people everyday on the street, we believe He makes a difference – He is the Light of the World.

Happy New Year!

Thank you for praying for us and partnering with us in the mission here.  In 2013, God enabled us to complete our formal language study, open an English Language Center (Life Enrichment Center), start English Conversational classes in Universities, begin classes in our center, and host events reaching over 60 students at our center.  It has been an exciting year.  In 2014, we look ahead to a year of changes as some team members return to the states for Home Assignment and new team members arrive to begin formal language study.  Pray for us during this transition year that we would still be able to develop relationships and effectively share God’s love with the people around us.  As you pray with us for the people and the work here, we trust God will continue to guide us as we serve Him.  May God bless you and your family in 2014 as well and use you in the lives of the people around you.
