On Monday nights we typically spend time before class, during break time, and after class playing table tennis with students. We have had so much fun and the students have started really keeping track of their win-loss records, so the matches are growing more and more intense! Thank you for praying for us as we build relationships with these students.
Got an invitation into the kitchen during a recent visit to a student’s home. It was so much fun to learn how to make this traditional local dish (meat filled dumplings). We’re grateful for the continued deepening of relationships and appreciate your prayers on our behalf!
A traditional feasting table ready for guests to enjoy. Hospitality is very important value in this culture and we are often blessed to be the beneficiaries!
Monday night was the first of our “Summer English” classes — it was a great evening!! We are so thankful that our students are showing signs of wanting to continue learning English and building a relationship with us outside the classroom. Our discussion topic was friendship and what is important in friendships. Our end goal with these students is to continue the conversation about our Best Friend, our Savior. Several students that attended have graduated from Universities this month. They are no longer going to be in our classes this fall, but they seem very interested in continuing to meet — both for English and as friends. Would you pray that we would know how to continue these relationships? This is exactly why we are here and exactly who we want to be reaching. Pray that God will show us effective ways to share the truth of the Gospel with these students.
We found this fig tree in our neighborhood while walking to the corner store. Summer time in Green Mountains is a great chance for us to enjoy God’s amazing creation in this place. EVERYTHING is lush and green these days as we’ve had lots of rain. We are savoring the opportunity to enjoy delicious fresh fruit and the beauty of the mountains.
