I never get tired of seeing (and smelling) bunches of lilacs, daffodils, and crocuses. They are one of the signs that spring has arrived in the city. While you can sometimes find these at the “regular” flower stands, oftentimes villagers bring them into the city to sell. During these difficult economic times, many families are depending on every bit of money that they can make just to have their basic needs met. To give you an idea, a bouquet of lilacs costs about a $1.00.
