Sweet Aroma

I have never smelled a rose like this large pink one–it had such a wonderful scent that I kept going back to it–I couldn’t get enough.

Recently, I was praying for a dear friend who seemed to be in an impossible situation. I felt so heavy for her, but there was nothing that I could do to help. As I prayed, God reminded me of these verses: 14 “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.” 2 Corinthians 2:14-15

Sometimes the best and only thing that we can do is be the fragrance of Christ to a hurting friend. That doesn’t require the “right” words or great advice. We just need a willingness to sit with someone in the mess, and to let them sense the love and peace of Christ. Those who are searching for Him won’t be able to get enough of His sweet aroma.

Thank you. This meditation ministers to us in a powerful way as we “sit” with a mother who recently lost her daughter to a drug overdose, soon will “sit” with an iw who can not return to her field because of her mother’s dementia and “sit” with many other workers (in prayer) whose ministries are battered by COVID 19.
