Our street was torn up about three weeks ago, and ever since we’ve been waiting for the new road to be built. We’ve waited through the chunks of concrete being hauled away, through a few rainy days, through mud, through the dirt being smoothed, through snow, and still–we’re waiting, anticipating.

This waiting is timely as we enter the advent season. A member of our team recently shared some great thoughts about how we often want Christmas without the waiting, without the trudging through mud–how sometimes we want God to show up without the sometimes difficult journey to meet Him. Let’s pray together that this year we’ll count the journey to Christmas as the best part–even if our boots get muddy!
