Beautiful Creations

This mural is created from old plastic bottle caps. Items that are usually just discarded–seen as worthless–have been used to make something beautiful. It’s a good illustration of how the Creator takes the brokenness of our lives and redeems it to show others a beautiful picture of His grace.

Fun Fact Friday: Warm Buns and Cool Breezes

You know it’s hot when even the bakeries close down claiming it’s too hot to make “warm buns!” Our city is eerily empty in the month of August. However, as September begins the cool breezes blow in, and the people return from their mountain villages. Soon, the city will be bustling yet again.

We are so excited to welcome two new couples to Team Green–one long-term and one short-term. Please pray for them as they go through orientation this week, and as they get settled into life here in GM. Thank you!

Lift Your Eyes!

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

People here take great pride in their roots. Traditional clothing varies by region, but it often displays beautiful embroidery work. Men’s and women’s outfits often compliment one another with similar color schemes and patterns.

Prayer Point: Only God Can Judge Me

IMG_1880

Seeing these English words dangling from a rearview mirror caused one teammate pause as he walked down the street. Later that same day, he saw the exact same phrase tattooed on a young man’s arm. “Only God can judge me.”

Hardly a coincidence, it has our team curious as to the slogan’s origin and meaning in this context. Is it a stand for something? Against something? We’re not sure, but pray with us for opportunities to join this conversation!
