Christmas Prayers for GM

Please pray for the people of GM to hunger for the bread of life, the Word. He is mighty to save!

“For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” John 6:33-35

Merry Christmas from Team Green!

Prayer Point: Christmas Prayer for GM

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

God’s Power

Sometimes I find myself feeling frustrated about a situation, and looking to my own power to solve the problem–anyone else? Recently, I was lamenting over the fact that some local drug dealers had resumed activity in the parking lot outside of our home. The Holy Spirit gave me a gentle shake–“You have the power of Christ in you.”

He turned my lamenting into sweeping–yes, sweeping. I started sweeping the parking lot and praying, sweeping and praying. Walking the parking lot–walking and praying and anointing the boundaries of the parking lot with oil and more prayers. After several days, they left. I have only seen one or two of the guys return since that time, but they haven’t stayed. And, in God’s generosity, He taught me a bonus lesson through one of my girls who lovingly suggested that I should also be praying for healing and restoration for the men involved. Praise God for His power and patience with me!

Visa Prayer Update

Thank you for praying! We wanted to let you know that we have had good news. While 3 families will still be returning to the US, two of them are leaving with return tickets for late January/early February. The third family is expected to have their return date set in the near future. What happened?

The only way for US citizens to enter GM currently is through two special permit programs that allow you to come to the border and then receive a new visa stamp (good for one year). The applications that the team submitted were approved in a day (we were anticipating 10 business days). Praise God!

Please pray for safe travel–for each family’s health and protection as they fly (leaving on the 21st, 27th, and 28th our time). Also, pray that one final document is approved for our team leader couple’s family–they expect a response on December 24. Thank you for lifting us up!

Prayer for GM: Hope and Freedom

Prayer Point: Unexpected Exit Plan

Many of you have heard by now that most of our team needs to leave Green Mountains due to visa issues. Please continue to pray for a fast resolution to these issues, for safe travel for the three families affected, for our team leader couple’s family who is able to stay, for powerful witness to our friends as we say “See you soon,” and for a quick return. Thank you for standing with us!

Christmas Prayers

Join us from now until January 7, 2021 for a month of Christmas prayers for GM. Each week you’ll learn something about local Christmas traditions and have the opportunity to pray scripture with us. We know that God’s word is powerful and alive and He is working. As we celebrate “God with Us,” let’s boldly ask for salvation for those who don’t know Him–both here and there.

Fun Fact Friday: Improv Shopping

The hunt for necessary and especially unusual items often leads to a treasure hunt, filled with unexpected twists and turns. I was recently searching for Christmas fabric and after a couple of unsuccessful stops, decided to get creative and improvise. By the end I had a few of pieces of fabric, but also a tablecloth, tea towel, and toddler-sized button up shirt! What could have been a frustrating search became a fun and fruitful hunt.

Prayer Point: Transforming Encounters

May people encounter the Living Christ and be wholly
transformed by His love.
