Peace

When the path ahead seems difficult, remember this truth: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Fun Fact Friday: Signs of Spring

These stems are one of the first signs of spring in our city. They appear on the street corners, sold in small bunches by flower vendors. While they give me a headache when indoors, they bring a pop of color to our front entrance area.

Prayer Point: When Things Fall Apart

Please join us in praying for peace in GM as it continues to face a serious and escalating political crisis. As people search for answers, may they find their hope in Jesus.

Friday Extra: The Gift of Time

While our family was in the US, local friends housesat for us. I loved coming back and seeing how they had rearranged and improved the house to meet their family’s needs.

One of the additions (my husband’s favorite) was a clock in our dining area. I have to admit that I was surprised by it! Generally speaking, time isn’t viewed or valued in the same way as it is in the US, and I wouldn’t have expected a time piece to be seen as a “necessity” in a home.

And this is the lesson that I am reminded of often–to be careful of generalizations and conclusions drawn from them. The best posture is one of a learner and observer.

Prayer Point: Crossroads

Have you ever felt that you were at a crossroads in life where you knew that the direction you chose would have a huge impact on you?  Recently, I was hiking up a mountain trail and stopped to take a picture of this sign. While there, I prayed through all of the upcoming major decisions.

As I sat there praying, my mind was brought to our team’s children and the decisions that they will need to make over the next couple of years. This summer our team will have our first two high school graduates (with three more graduates the following year.)  This crossroad event is huge for a teenager, but especially as our children return back to the United States with the rest family staying here overseas.

Psalm 31:14-15a says, “But I am trusting you, O LORD, saying, “You are my God!” My future is in your hands.”  Please pray for our families as we move through this new stage of life, and pray for these children as they go down new paths.  Pray that they would follow closely after God and trust Him for their future.

The Way

Ironically, after coming out of a very confusing year of 2020, this new year of 2021 has started out with extremely foggy weather here in our city, reminding us yet again that things are still in a state of uncertainty in the world.

Pray with us, that we would be very sensitive to hear His voice, to have wisdom to know what lies ahead, and which way He would have us go.

“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21

Friday Extra: Team Update

Just a quick update:
One Team Green family has arrived back in GM and one is scheduled to leave this coming Sunday. In addition, it appears that the borders are reopening, which will mean easier re-entry for those still in the US. Praising God for all of His provisions during this time.
