One of my students was recently expressing to me her frustration of how many of her friends seem to have a negative outlook on life. She then proceeded to tell me she enjoys our times together saying, “Even when you were going through a hard time with your father being ill, and you having to be so far away from him, you still seemed to have a peace about you.” She went on to say that many days she arrives at our lesson feeling discouraged or overwhelmed with her life, but by the time she leaves she feels better and has a new perspective. Then she asked me, “Why are you such a joyful person?” That is a question I love to be asked. I was able to share with her about where my source of joy is found! I told her that yes, life is hard and we all go through struggles, but I can trust in God. He is there with me through it all—He is my source of peace and joy! Please pray that His light and joy would continually shine brightly through us here, and that people would be drawn to His truth by it!
